Outcome Measures Framework Repository – Stakeholder Webinar

Please join us for a web-based stakeholder forum to discuss a new AHRQ-funded effort to develop a repository of standardized outcome measures for patient registries. The forums will be held on February 21, 2017 at 2:00pm ET and February 23, 2017 at 11:00am ET.  We hope you can attend one of them.

Significant variation exists in both the types and definition of outcome measures used in patient registries, even within the same clinical area. This variation reduces the utility of registries, making it more difficult to compare, link, and aggregate data across the spectrum of clinical care and reporting. To address this variation, AHRQ developed the Outcome Measures Framework (OMF), a generic content model for developing standardized outcome measures in specific disease areas.

AHRQ is now in the process of developing standardized libraries of outcome measures in five condition areas. The standardized measures will be made available in an online repository, accessible through the Registry of Patient Registries (RoPR) site. Registry sponsors will be able to submit additional measures to the repository to expand its scope and further promote harmonization across registries.

In December, ARHQ hosted two open door forums focused on an approach to classifying and harmonizing outcome measures using the OMF and developing standardized data libraries. Distinct from these forums, the February webinars will focus on the design and content of the online repository. Specifically, the project team will present plans for the repository and seek feedback from participants about both the process for submitting new measures as well as the search capabilities for those seeking information on existing measures.
