With increasing numbers of shops going cashless, effectively forcing customers to provide data, or else making it harder for them to get their basic provisions, how destructive is the effect of that on people's mental health? Privacy and dignity are basic human needs for psychological health, if that is stripped away, it does harm. There is no dignity in data. Data is inherently undignifying. How psychologically dangerous is this move?
