Comparative Effectiveness of Therapies for Children With Autism Spectrum Disorders
Educational Interventions Addressed in This Report
Educational interventions are the primary treatment for ASDs and, for the most part, are intended to be administered in educational settings. In general, these interventions focus on improving educational and cognitive skills; however, they may also be used to address core areas of social, cognitive, and behavioral impairment. The systematic review examined literature on the TEACHH program, broad-based early intervention center- or classroom-based instruction, and computer-based approaches to educational intervention.
