Pain Management Interventions for Hip Fracture
Consequences of Pain From Hip Fracture
Pain following hip fracture has been associated with delirium, depression, sleep disturbance, and altered response to treatment for comorbidities. When pain is inadequately managed in these patients, consequences that follow can include delayed ambulation, cardiovascular and pulmonary complications, aggravation of comorbidities and mortality risk, and delayed transition to lower levels of care.
