Pain Management Interventions for Hip Fracture
Adverse Events Influenced by Pain Management Interventions
Overall, adverse event rates were similar in both treated and control groups, but studies were not powered to identify statistically significant differences. Myocardial infarction, stroke, and renal failure were either rarely reported or no significant differences were found between groups.
The evidence is insufficient to understand the association of pain management interventions with clinically significant, serious adverse events that occur in elderly patients with hip fracture.
