Effectiveness of TENS on Acute Pain: Trials, Results, and Conclusions
Analysis of two studies that tested the effect of TENS (in both preoperative and postoperative use) on acute pain shows that TENS may improve pain relief more than usual care alone. However, the evidence is insufficient to guide clinical decisionmaking. The evidence may support continued research to test effectiveness and safety.
